In a few short days we’ll be entering 2012, can you believe it? I’m looking forward to so many special moments this year, such as my wedding (June 23rd), my honeymoon (just booked it last night), being in my 30′s (cringe), and continuing to add my favorite recipes to my blog.
Throughout the few short months I’ve been working on Girl Meets Whisk, I’ve come to find a few recipes were quite popular with the cyber world. So, in honor of 2011 coming to a close (thank goodness), and kicking off 2012 (yay), I am doing a year-end wrap up of the top recipes on my blog.
I know what you’re thinking, why in the world is a 2011 wrap-up in order when this blog is only several months old?
Well…because it’s fun to see which recipes received the most action!
3rd Place: White Chocolate Almond Oatmeal Cookies-If you have not given these a try, do it! I’ve made them at least 4 times and have never been disappointed. Add some vanilla ice-cream and you will be in sugar coma heaven.
2nd Place: Butternut Squash Soup - This soup is rich, creamy, however, is extremely healthy and nutritious. Great to freeze in individual portion sizes for those nights where you’re in a bind.

1st Place: Soft Gingerbread Cookies with Lemon Glaze- I almost wanted to lick the screen of my computer after looking at this picture. These were TO DIE FOR!
You seriously cannot go wrong with ANY of the above 3 recipes, but there are some others that didn’t score as highly with the readers, however, were some of my favorites.
My personal favorite top 3 recipes are:
3rd Place: Gingerbread Biscotti-Not overly sweet, but are rich in flavor and are complimented perfectly with the white chocolate drizzle. Mmmmmm, chocolate.
2nd Place: Chocolate Trifle- This simple trifle is decadent, rich, and will be a hit with chocolate lovers. Also great to make in individual sizes.
1st Place: CREAM CHEESE SQUARES!!!-I have been making these for years and I don’t think I will ever stop. YOU CAN’T MAKE ME! These bars are dangerous. I’ve never met someone who eats just one. They are a perfect combination of creamy, sweet, and slightly crunchy. I make these for Christmas morning every year and have been known secretly hold a few hostage in my house prior to packaging for my parents house. I HOPE THEY’RE NOT READING THIS! Sorry mom.
Ummm…is it just me or do all three of my favorite recipes include sugar? Whoops.
Either way, Happy New Year and see you in 2012
